It was our first edition, in 2015 when our dream came true.
Adorjan was a master student at Biology and Geology Faculty in Cluj-Napoca when he had the great idea to invite Nobel Prize Laureates at Cluj-Napoca, our student city. His idea was received with great joy, but nothing really happened until his colleague, Octavia joined the team.
They were two students that could not be stopped anymore.
For more than one year, they wrote their ideas on paper and presented to different parties that might have been interested in supporting their project.
And so they met several people that got as enthusiastic as our two master students.
So, with just one idea and a big dream, without any financial support form beginning, their project grew bigger and bigger.
But, still everything was conditioned by the participation of at least one Nobel Laureate. And here it was… 23rd of December, the year before the conference when Sir Prof. Tim Hunt replied and accepted their invitation. And maybe, this was the real beginning of everything.
Together with another coordinator, Denise, around 45 volunteers and support (including financially) from the biggest universities and research centers from Cluj-Napoca, they created International Conference: Molecular Biology- Current Aspects and Prospects.
With a final budget of around 30.000 €, they organised the first edition for almost 800 participants, including a high number of Bachelor and Master students.
