HOW TO GET THERE?

Cluj-Napoca benefits from an extensive air network with direct flights from many major cities in Europe and Romania. Land connections (road and rail) are also well developed for longer trips.

✈️-🚌 From the Avram Iancu International Airport Cluj to Cluj-Napoca City Center/ Auditorium Maximum, public transport can be used by taking the following Bus lines: A1E, 5, 8 

🚕You can also rent a car or use a taxi (BOLT is available)

🚂 From the train station (Gara CFR Cluj-Napoca) to Cluj-Napoca City Center/ Auditorium Maximum public transport can be used by taking the following Bus lines: 3, 32B, 35, 9, 4, 5 or tram line 101.

🚗 For car parking, the closest to the event venue is “Parcare Piața Unirii”, “Parcare Cipariu” or “Parking Primărie”  (with hourly payment). The cars can also be parked on the marked places on the road, but check the payment conditions or use the appropriate app for making payments. 

1. Bucharest (aprox. 450 km):

  • By plane: Direct flights to Avram Iancu International Airport Cluj, approximately 1 hour.
  • By train: Travel approximately 9-10 hours by InterRegio trains.
  • By car: Accessible via E60/A3 (partly highway), duration is 6-8 hours depending on traffic.

2. Iași (aprox. 400 km):

  • By airplane: Direct flights take about 1 hour.
  • By train: Travel approximately 8-10 hours by direct trains.
  • By car: the DN15/DN17/DN1C route takes 6-7 hours, depending on road conditions.

3. Timișoara (aprox. 300 km):

  • By airplane: Direct flights, duration approximately 50 minutes.
  • By train: Travel 6-7 hours by InterRegio trains.
  • By car: The route on DN6/E81 takes about 4-5 hours.

4. Brașov (aprox. 270 km):

  • By train: Travel 7-8 hours by direct InterRegio trains.
  • By car: the DN1/DN13/DN1 route takes about 5-6 hours.

5. Constanța (aprox. 600 km):

  • By plane: Stopover via Bucharest, total duration about 2-3 hours.
  • By train: Travel 12-14 hours, with connections through Bucharest.
  • By car: The route on the A2/A3 and E60 takes about 9-10 hours.

6. Oradea (aprox. 150 km):

  • By train: Travel approximately 2-3 hours by direct trains.
  • By car: the DN1/E60 route takes about 2-2.5 hours

How to get to Cluj-Napoca from other key countries in Europe:

1. Germany:

  • By plane: There are direct flights to Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport from major cities such as Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Stuttgart, Dortmund, Berlin and Stuttgart. Flights last between 1.5 and 2 hours.
  • With car: Access on central European highway network, travel time depending on departure city (e.g. 12-14 hours from Munich).
  • By train/coach: International connections from major cities, with longer durations of 15-20 hours.

2. Italy:

  • By plane: Direct flights from cities such as Milan, Rome, Bologna, Venice or Naples. Flights last 1.5-2 hours.
  • By car: Travel 12-14 hours, with routes through Austria and Hungary.
  • By coach: regular international bus services from the main Italian cities, lasting about 20-25 hours.

3. France:

  • By plane: Direct flights from Paris and Lyon. The flight takes about 2.5 hours.
  • By train/coach: Options available through European networks, with durations of 20-30 hours.

4. Great Britain:

  • By plane: Direct flights from London (Heathrow, Luton or Stansted airports). Flights last approximately 2.5-3 hours.
  • By coach/train: Possible, but involves multiple connections and travel over 30 hours.

5. Hungary:

  • By plane: Direct flights from Budapest take about 1 hour.
  • By train: Direct connections from Budapest to Cluj-Napoca take about 7-8 hours.
  • By car: About 4-5 hours, on the M3/DN1/E60 route.

6. Austria:

  • By plane: Direct flights from Vienna. Flight duration is about 1.5 hours.
  • By train: International connections, lasting 12-14 hours.
  • By car: About 8-10 hours, on the A1/E60 route through Hungary.

7. Poland:

  • By plane: Direct flights from Warsaw.
  • By train: Connections through Slovakia and Hungary take 12-15 hours. By car: Route through Slovakia, duration about 10-12 hours.
  • By car: Route through Slovakia, duration about 10-12 hours.

8. Spain:

  • By plane: Direct flights from cities such as Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia. Flights last 3-4 hours.
  • By car: About 25-30 hours, passing through France and Italy.
  • By coach: international routes, duration approximately 30-35 hours.

9. Nordic countries (Denmark, Sweden, Norway):

  • By plane: Direct flights from Copenhagen, Stockholm or Oslo (depending on season). Duration 2-3 hours.
  • By car: Route through Germany and Austria, duration 15-20 hours.
