Marius I. Mihășan is Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Biology, Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iași (UAIC). His research centres on the Paenarthrobacter nicotinovorans pAO1 megaplasmid, nicotine catabolism, oxidative-stress defence, and the evolution and horizontal transfer of catabolic pathways; current projects span whole-genome/long-read transcriptomics, proteomics, and waste-to-value bioconversion of nicotine. He also advances biomolecular education through low-cost, 3D-printed molecular models. He is a former Fulbright Research Fellow (2017) and recipient of the Romanian Academy “Emil Racoviță”.
